Tea plant (Camellia sinensis) from Köhler's Medicinal Plants

What is tea?

All tea (white tea, yellow tea, green tea, oolong, pu-erh tea, black tea) comes from the same plant - Camellia sinensis. All of these varieties are harvested and then processed in different ways to achieve their own distinct flavor.

White Tea is a very delicate tea. The buds and leaves of the tea plant wither in natural sunlight, and are then minimally processed to prevent oxidation. White tea is the highest in antioxidants out of any tea.

Yellow Tea

Green Tea originated in Asia and has been gaining popularity in Western culture because of the health benefits. Green tea is high in flavonoids, which are shown to have anticarcinogenic benefits. After sun or oven drying, green tea is often hand rolled.
